Focusing on What Matters: Temporarily Pausing Extension Support for Summate v2

Building a startup means making hard decisions about where to focus. Today, we're sharing one of those decisions with you.

We're temporarily pausing support for the Summate Extension to go all-in on perfecting Summate v2 and our core Personalized Digest experience.

This wasn't an easy call, but it's the right one. Let me explain why.

We've learned something crucial over the past months: trying to do everything means doing nothing exceptionally well.

With Summate v2, we've rebuilt our entire infrastructure from the ground up. The new platform is:

• 10x faster at processing your content
• More intelligent in understanding what matters to you
• More reliable with better source management
• More customizable with granular digest controls

But here's the thing – to make this vision a reality, we need our entire team focused on one goal: creating the world's best personalized digest experience.

The extension is no longer compatible with Summate v2 and will not function. We recommend uninstalling it for now to avoid any confusion or errors. The v1 extension infrastructure has been deprecated as part of our platform upgrade.

By focusing our resources, we're accelerating development on:

1. Smarter Digest Algorithms: AI that truly understands your reading preferences and surfaces exactly what you need to know

2. Better Source Integration: Seamless connection with more platforms, better newsletter handling, and improved content extraction

3. Advanced Customization: Fine-tune exactly how your digest looks, when it arrives, and what it includes

4. Mobile Experience: A completely redesigned mobile interface that makes reading on-the-go a delight

This isn't goodbye – it's "see you later."

Once we've nailed the core Summate v2 experience, we'll bring back the extension with:

• Native v2 integration
• Faster summarization
• Better webpage understanding
• Cross-platform sync with your digests
• Features you've been requesting that we couldn't build on the old architecture
